Nestling within the Essex countryside is this enchanting stretch of the River Lea. Shallow in places and holding very large Chub to over 7lb and Barbel nearing 16lb this really is a specimen hunters dream water. Well constructed disabled swims and ample parking are available.
This has to be one of the best value fisheries around. The river is excesible through a combination lock sytem and is very secure. There are 2 car parks , one at the top of the fishery and another towards the end. A short distance from the river is the Relief channel which holds large Chub, Barbel, Bream, Roach as well a good stock of Carp to over 40lb. All the usual baits and rigs will work but doing something a little bit different will usually pay dividends
. On the river look for deep holes close to bankside cover/snags and steering away from the popular areas can bring unexpected rewards, while on the relief channel its always worth trying flicking out a floater for the Carp on a warm summers day.
Location is the key on the Relief Channel, stay mobile.
The lakes at Fishers Green are partly an unknown quantity to both pleasure and specimen anglers. The captures of huge carp over 40lb, plus bream and tench exceeding 16lb and 14lb respectively, shows the possibility of more big fish captures
