Q - Hi all can you please tell me where I can find a lake in my area (Gloucestershire) that contains a 40lb+ carp. I have caught carp to 36lb from Lemington lakes and am now looking for a bigger challenge.

 

A - Hello Dave and thanks for your question. You have the famous Horseshoe Lakes in your county. Horseshoe lake is situated in the Cotswolds on the Gloucester/Wiltshire border.

Horseshoe has many stunning fully scaled mirrors up to a top weight of 46.lb. To fish this lake you need to become a member of the Carp Society.

Once you are a member of the carp society you can then pay on arrival at the lake for either a 24 hour ticket at £20.00, or just fish for the day and spend just £10.00, the choice is yours. Horshoe also contains many specimen tench and rudd which grow to enormous sizes in its rich waters. To visit the website click here. Good luck!
