The objective is to keep the hair aligned straight with the hook shank. Constantly check alignment and hook point sharpness after each and every cast.
Many anglers do not check the sharpness of there hook and this no dought costs them fish. When retrieving your rig it would just need to bump on a small rock or stone and the hook point could be blunted. If you follow these instructions then you can fish with confidence which after all is 50% of the battle.
This film and image really says it all but we can add a couple of tips to help you. Always wet the knot with your own saliva before pulling tight. When using mono hooklinks try wrapping around 2 or 3 times on the way back down to the eye as this will help to prevent the knot from turning under pressure.
