With many fisheries now having a ban on using leaders, more and more anglers are once again turning to tubing. Carp fisheries have this rule because they believe that a carp tethered to a leader has more potential of becoming snagged and dying.
So now for some tips on helping you to tread your line through the tubing more easily.
1. Always make sure the line that you intend to pass through the length of tubing is nice and smooth, free of any kinks or abrasions.
2. The line and internal bore of the tubing must be dry.
3. Create an edge like a spear at the end of the line.
4. Using a tail rubber and clip hang a lead at the end of the tubing which will keep it straight aiding the passage of your main line.
This method really does help to alleviate the age old problem associated with using tubing. The tubing used will also play a part.
Your line will travel better through a semi stiff tubing such as ESP 1.75mm Anchor which has a larger bore. Some brands have a smaller bore, 1 mm, 1.2 mm etc. With a smaller bore the harder it will be to pass the mainline through.
